When is our Chocolate Chip Skillet Cookie with M&M’s baked?
Knowing when a Chocolate Chip Skillet Cookie with M&M’s is perfectly baked can make all the difference between a deliciously gooey treat and an overcooked skillet cookie. Here are some tips to help you to know when your Chocolate Chip Skillet cookie with M&Ms is ready:
- Golden Brown Edges: The edges of the skillet cookie should be golden brown and slightly crispy. This indicates that the outer portion is well-cooked.
- Set Center: The center of the cookie should be set but still slightly soft. It should not look wet or doughy. A little bit of wobble is okay because the cookie will continue to cook and set as it cools in the skillet.
- Toothpick Test: Insert a toothpick into the center of the cookie. If it comes out mostly clean with a few moist crumbs (not wet batter), the cookie is done. Be cautious not to overbake as you want the center to remain gooey.
- Color of M&M’s: The M&M’s should appear slightly melted and their colors may look a bit faded but not burnt. This visual cue can help you judge the doneness.
- Baking Time: Follow the recipe’s suggested baking time. Oven temperatures can vary, so keep an eye on the cookie as it nears the end of the baking time.
By paying attention to these indicators, you can ensure your Chocolate Chip Skillet Cookie with M&M’s is baked to perfection, with a delightful combination of crispy edges and a soft, gooey center.
